Mechanical Performance |
|
Pressure Rating |
Maximum operating pressure: 8 bar (116 psi) for static sealing
Maximum operating pressure: 5 bar (72.5 psi) for dynamic sealing |
Speed Limit |
For rotating applications, maximum linear speed is 15 m/s |
Temperature Range |
Operating temperature range: -20°C to 180°C (-4°F to 356°F) |
Geometric Dimensions |
|
Inner Diameter (ID) |
Available sizes range from 10 mm to 300 mm with an increment of 5 mm for standard types |
Outer Diameter (OD) |
Calculated based on ID and the specified radial thickness. Standard radial thickness is 5 - 10 mm depending on the application requirements |
Thickness |
For flat seals, thickness is 3 mm to 8 mm. For O - rings, the cross - sectional diameter is available in 2.65 mm, 3.53 mm, 5.33 mm, etc. |
Sealing Face |
|
Surface Finish |
For mating surfaces with the rubber seal, the surface finish should be Ra ≤ 0.8 µm for optimal sealing performance |
Flatness |
In static applications, the flatness tolerance of the mating surfaces is within 0.05 mm |
Materials of Construction |
|
Main Sealing Element |
Special synthetic rubber with excellent chemical and heat resistance properties |
Secondary Sealing Elements (if applicable) |
Other elastomers with complementary properties for enhanced sealing in complex applications |
Metal Parts |
Stainless steel (AISI 316) for metal components in contact with the rubber seal to prevent corrosion |
Chemical Compatibility |
|
Compatible Fluids |
Water (both fresh and seawater), most hydrocarbons (such as gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oils), mild acids (e.g., acetic acid up to 10% concentration), and alkalis (e.g., sodium hydroxide up to 10% concentration) |
Incompatible Fluids |
Strong oxidizing agents (such as concentrated nitric acid), highly polar solvents (e.g., acetone in high concentrations) |
Installation and Maintenance |
|
Installation Torque |
When installing metal parts associated with the seal (e.g., bolts for flanges), the recommended torque is 12 - 18 Nm |
Lubrication |
Use a compatible lubricant (such as silicone grease) during installation to facilitate positioning and reduce friction |
Maintenance Interval |
In normal operating conditions, the seal should be inspected every 3 - 6 months. Replace the seal if signs of wear, cracking, or swelling are observed |
Testing and Quality Assurance |
|
Pressure Test |
The seal is subjected to a hydrostatic pressure test at 1.5 times the rated pressure for 60 minutes. No leakage should be observed during this test |
Leakage Test |
For dynamic applications, the maximum allowable leakage rate is 0.2 ml/h. For static applications, the leakage should be negligible |
Dimensional Inspection |
All dimensions of the seal are inspected before shipment. The tolerance for ID and OD is ± 0.1 mm, and for thickness is ± 0.05 mm |
Performance Characteristics |
|
Friction Coefficient |
Against smooth metal surfaces, the friction coefficient of the rubber seal is approximately 0.3 - 0.5 |
Wear Rate |
Under normal operating conditions, the wear rate of the seal is less than 0.002 mm/year |
